North Carolina grandfather of 5 found dead after mysterious disappearance

The body of 71-year-old Miguel Hung, a beloved grandfather from Raleigh, North Carolina, has been found nearly two weeks after his mysterious disappearance, local authorities have confirmed.

Hung went missing sometime between the evening of August 9 and the early hours of August 10. His son, Mike Hung, stated that Miguel had left their home without his cell phone or wallet, driving away in his wife Pamela’s silver Mercedes.

Despite their desperate efforts to locate him, there had been no sign of the retired car salesman until the tragic discovery.

On Tuesday, August 20, at approximately 3:55 a.m. local time, Raleigh Police Department officials reported that Miguel’s body was found about five miles from his home, per WRAL News. While the exact details surrounding his death remain unclear, the authorities stated that there were “no suspicious circumstances” related to his passing. Further information regarding the cause of death has yet to be released.

Despite his personal battles, Miguel remained a devoted family man. He had been married to his wife, Pamela, for 45 years and was actively involved in the lives of his children, Mike and Brittany Rutledge. “He never missed a soccer game growing up,” Mike recalled.
