Online users beg Barbara Eden, 93, to quit botox after transformation leaves fans stunned
|In the 1960s, Barbara Eden made people dream of Jeannie, but now the actor, who just turned 93, is making fans wish she’d quit the botox.
As the star of I Dream of Jeannie, Eden was able to make magic happen, but today fans are calling her a “botoxed filled actor” who looks like she has “nuts stored for the winter.”
After almost 60 years, Barbara Eden is still adored for charming audiences from 1965 to 1970 as the magical genie on the hit comedy TV series I Dream of Jeannie.
Only 35 when she first appeared as the 2000-year-old lovable lady in the bottle, Eden is now a nonagenarian, and recently she celebrated another birthday.
On August 23, the star turned 93 and was pictured treating herself to a visit at her local salon in Van Nuys, California.
The actor, who starred alongside Elvis Presley in 1960’s Flaming Star, was seen wearing a stunning sunflower-yellow maxi skirt that she paired with a long-sleeved black crewneck top. She had a pair of practical wedge sandals on her feet and large retro white glasses hiding her eyes.
When she left the salon, her white-blonde hair was blown out and her nails were freshly painted.
Speaking with People, Eden said of her birthday, “I am so grateful to have completed another trip around the sun.” Eden tells People of her birthday.
The star, who’s been married to Jon Eicholtz since 1991, then says, “I’ll be spending my birthday having lunch with my husband and some dear friends. I will also be enjoying the weekend with my family, my sister Alison, her husband, and their children. I want to thank all my friends and fans around the world for their outpouring of love and well wishes on my special day.”
‘A very happy girl’
On the same day, she shared a photo across her social media channels where she’s seen standing with her husband.
The “happy girl” looks radiant with her freshly coiffed hair and bright smile.
Expressing her gratitude for all the love, she writes, “My deepest thanks to everyone for all the lovely messages, wishes of joy and kindness I have received today! I have tried to ‘like’ as many of your messages as possible but, my goodness there are just so many!” The Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea actor continues, “It warms my heart, truly to know so many of you have reached out and feel so fondly for me today and have sent such beautiful messages. Thank you all so very much from the bottom of my heart!”
Eden ends the message writing, “Here is a shot taken just a few hours ago before my darling husband Jon and I went to have my Birthday lunch together! Again, thank you so very much, I am a very happy girl! xoxo -Barbara.”
‘Our beautiful Jeannie’
Online users jumped into the comments section of her post, wishing her a happy birthday while also thanking her for the many special memories.
“Happy Birthday to [the] most beautiful actress in the world, it was great growing up watching you. Thank you for everything,” shares one.
“You are our beautiful Jeannie!!!” starts a second. “We send our love on your birthday!! I remember when my grandson [was] 4 years old, [he watched] I Dream of Jeannie [and] announced he was going to marry you! Thank you for giving us so many memories!”
A third pens, “Thank you for being a special part of my childhood. I used to cross my arms and blink just like Jeannie to try and clean my room. I was always surprised when it didn’t work.” And another adds, “Jesus I can’t believe she’s still with us, she looks amazing I absolutely loved that show.
Storing nuts
Meanwhile, some critics took the opportunity to suggest the legendary actor has too many “fillers.”
“Why do the doctors always put in too much making them look like they have nuts stored for the winter?” asks one user about her face.
A second netizen offers, “Why do we pretend these botoxed filled actors are naturally looking great at age 93?” And a third writes, “Awful.”
Another adds, “She’d look better if she hadn’t filled her face up with plastic, however, she’s still in good [shape] for a genuine oldie.”
